Worksites
Description of Work Project
Eagle Mount Hoarse ranch is a therapeutic ranch for developmentally disabled children. We will be doing everything for clean up to working directly with the children and the stock.
St Vincent de Paul Society, working with clients who need light gardening and housecleaning. This would be mostly face to face outreach to the homebound.
St Vincent de Paul Store, burned down and had been recently been rebuilt. They need help in the clothing and food bank. We will end the week by working in the Cathedral soup kitchen
The Farm in the Dell, is a start up farm for developmentally disabled adults. We will be doing everything from building a green house to planting and working side by side with future residents.
Little Shell Indian Tribe This site is yet nailed down but it entails helping them establish outreach and gardening projects.
You will be given a chance to pick your sites at the potluck on June 2. Please come prepared to do so.
Electronic use policy:
· Due to the length of the drive each van can have a video player or two and watch movies (approved by the driver)
· Each trekker may have a personal music devise as long as they still can participate with the community at large and not pull away from the group.
· Cell phones can be taken but not used until we get to Silverwood.
· All electronic (accept cameras) will be collected once we get to Great Falls and returned for the trip home.
Spending money needed
· There are approximately 8 meals that are not covered by Mission Trek funds. I figure this may cost $80-$100 addition.
· If we have Trekker funds left over after all the other fees have been paid, this may not be necessary. Every opportunity will be taken to minimize this cost as most as possible.
· I strongly suggest that each family purchase a debit card and put the $80- $100 on it.
· Therefore I suggest that each Trekker, get out and sell stock to help defray the cost of these meals.
Appropriate Dress and Sleeping information
· Work clothes, cool, comfortable, nothing you mind getting ruined.
· T- Shirts only, no tank tops at either the work sites or at the home site. NO OPEN TOE SHOES PLEASE.
· It can be hot or very cold in Great Falls in June. Please bring warm clothes as well as summer clothes.
· The information I have says that cots are available once we get to Great Falls. But remember we have one night getting there and two nights out where we have to sleep on the floor. Bring a mattress or a pad to sleep on.
· A warm sleeping bag is in order.
The following is an exert from a letter from our work site directors:
Hello from Montana,
We are Don & Elaine Miller and we are very excited about Young Neighbors this June. This is only our second year as a site (as well as the 2nd year in our new high school building) and YNIA tripled in numbers this year. We've got some great work sites and I think you'll enjoy our culture night with some local Native American dancing and stories.
We just got two feet of snow here last week but the flowers survived thanks to a quick melt. Should be nice and green and temps in the 70s to 80s when you are here in June.
Blessings to you as you prepare for the pilgrimage,
Once again, it is very important that you read this letter and keep it in a safe place. All question will be answered at the mandatory potluck on Tuesday, June 2 (there must be a representative from each family in attendance). Thanks for a great preparation! Next month at this time we will be serving the folks we have been preparing for all year

Very special invitation:
· All families are invited to attend the closing session of One WEEK at 11:00 on Friday in the St Ann’s parish hall.
