Boat Cruise Cancelled

Tonight's boat cruise is cancelled due to the lack of ticket sales. Please don't show up at the church looking for the bus!

Yikkeess..It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas or Antactica. I am not sure which. Well here I sit looking out my window and watching it snow. I know all of you are thrilled (until June when you have to make al these days up) but I am a nervous wreak.
On the up side, my cards are done, my packages wrapped, the Christmas grocery list completed and I am ready for everything accept. Life Teen and EDGE on Sunday and the Confirmation retreat on January 4 & 5. So with God's help this should all go away soon. Brita and I have decided to pack a bag and spend the night at the Youth Center on Sunday night so we don't get snowed in for the Life Teen alumni party on Monday.
Speaking of Brita, tomorrow, Friday, is her 25th birthday. Drop her an e-mail or text and say happy Bday.
Okay, now down to business:

• They need Trekkers on Tuesday, Decemeber 23 at 2pm in the Church to help decorate. I have not heard back from the Knights as to when they are doing the trees. So, if you can make it Tuesday that would be great.
• Remember that This Saturday is nativity House. The homeless are suffering way more than we are. be at the YC at 8am.
• This Sunday we will be putting together the Christmas baskets and delievering them (O, Lord I hope so) after the 11:30 Mass in the hall. Please plan on coming to help.
• At 2:30 we need folks to start rolling out the cookie dough. We will decorate them after Mass and pass them out to those folks at the Reconciliation service, like Me.
• The Cruise money is due on Sunday. Cruise is on Monday, Jan 29
• Also, James, PJ and Patrick signed up to help Dave Hamlin Move on Saturday, Jan 3. I will have him call you with the particulars.

I must admitt it is pretty but please stay safe and warm. I promise I will check this blog on a regular basis, as promised at the meeting. Give a shout and let me know you read it.

Please save the date of Saturday, January 24, 2009 to help serve at the Crab Feed. I was talking to some of the Knights today, and they want 40-50 MS trekkers, Mission trekkers, and adults to help with this event.

Okay, here I am falling on my sword. I really messed up last weekend, when I gave Marcia's address all wrong and messed up her phone number too. AHH. Okay, so lets try again.This Saturday at 10 am meet at Marcia Haglands 29115 45th Ave S in Auburn (253) 839-3109. Bring tools. Who can go?Also, the most exciting thing happened. I just got an e-mail fro Maria D and she is working hard on beating initiative 1000 (assisted suicide) She is asking for help at 2pm in front of the YC. Here is here e-mail:
You know that at our past Mission Trek in Tijuana, we decided to work on preventing I-1000 from passing in November? I'm a member of a pro-life youth organization called Youth For Life, and I was given the job of being the Federal Way coordinator for the Coalition Against Assisted Suicide's door-to-door literature distribution effort across Washington state. I'm looking for volunteers to distribute materials to doorsteps in the Federal Way area. I'm in charge of keeping a list of volunteers with their contact info, and briefing everyone about what they're supposed to do and give them the mateirals. I was hoping all the volunteers could meet in front of the Life House at 10am on Saturday to get the materials and additional info, but we could also schedule it for a different time if a lot of people are busy this weekend. Also, this is the first wave, there will be a second door-to-door campaign in mid-late October, so I'm hoping to use the same volunteers during that time too. This is a perfect opportunity for anybody to get involved in this effort! I need responses asap please! Thanks,Maria D'Angelo P.S. if anybody asks, no, you don't have to ring the doorbell or talk to the people at any the houses, and yes, you can team up in 2's. You can also deliver the materials on your own time, whenever you want to.
Marcia's yard work will go towards the "trekomoter" and and Maria's towards attendence.Also, that night there is a memorial service for the anniversary of Gloria's funeral at Kennedy at 7:30pm.
